A COMMUNITY radio station has launched a training scheme for budding broadcasters Drystone Radio, based at Cowling, near Keighley, will cater for groups of up to five people over the age of 14 teaching them the essentials of broadcasting, editing and radio journalism.
The station has previously trained individuals, some of whom have gone on to pursue a radio career.
Station founder David Adams said: “With better studio space now we are able to attract small groups to be coached together in a more formal workshop style.”
Drystone Radio has switched to a new FM frequency with a stronger signal using an improved transmitter. Its DJs are now broadcasting daily on 103.5FM.
The station is also planning a major outside broadcast programme covering the forthcoming Tour de France grand depart next month using a large team of volunteers.
Anyone interested in the training courses should contact the station manager on email@drystoneradio.com or call 01535 635392.
