YOUNG footballers in Sutton are getting the support they deserve thanks to a sponsorship deal with a Keighley company.

Keighley Auto Painting, (KAP) which is based in Beecher Street, has come forward to help the Sutton Rascals under-nines team.

KAP has been operating for nearly 22 years, including 13 years at its current location.

Company owner Darren Wilson explained that he had said he was happy to sponsor the team after this was jokingly suggested by a couple of parents.

One of his own sons, eight-year-old Kyle, plays for the team, while his younger son Jamie is in the under-seven squad. He said: Mr Wilson said the Sutton Rascals were a great team with a bright future.“I want to put something back into the community, and they are a super group of lads,” he added. “They’ve just got their new kits and they played their first game of the season at home, which they won.“They're a cracking team with a good atmosphere amongst the parents and a good atmosphere on the pitch."

“I’ve known the coach for 20 years and he does a great job with the boys. They’ve come on leaps and bounds and as a team they play together really well.”
