CANCER patients in Bradford are set to benefit from a £25,000 donation from Leeds Building Society.
The cash comes from LBS members agreeing to forego up to 99p of their interest each year through the Society’s Your Interest in Theirs scheme and a donation of one per cent of average balances in its Caring Saver accounts.
The money will go towards helping Marie Curie nurse provide free care to people with terminal illnesses. Dianne Hughes, a Marie Curie nurse in West Yorkshire, joined the charity’s community fundraiser, Hannah Saxon, to accept the donation from Kim Rebecchi, LBS distribution and marketing director.
Siobhan Drane, Marie Curie partnership manager, said: “£25,000 is a huge donation and we’re extremely grateful to Leeds Building Society and their members as these vital funds will enable Marie Curie to continue to provide a better life for people and their families living with a terminal illness.”
Leeds Building Society’s has branch network includes offices in Bradford, Yeadon and Horsforth.
