NEW engineering jobs are being created through the expansion of a North East hydraulics firm into Bradford.

Quick Hydraulics, part of the County Durham-based Altec Engineering Group, will start operations alongside sister company, precision engineering firm Sigma Technologies, in a 21,000 sq ft workshop on the Euroway trading estate next to the M606 motorway.

Quick Hydraulics .which was bought out of administration by Altec last year, plans to use its new Bradford operation to serve industry across Yorkshire and the Humber offering hydraulic servicing and repair along with accredited training.

The new operation will create up to eight hydraulic engineering jobs on the site, which will be overseen by business development manager Mike Goldsworthy.

Andrew Esson, Quick Hydraulics managing director, said: “Quick Hydraulics has been helping industry in the North East keep their hydraulic equipment running for more than 30 years and training o

“Altec Engineering’s investment in a new factory on the Euroway Industrial Estate near Bradford is a perfect opportunity for us to bring our high-quality hydraulic capability to Yorkshire and the Humber.

“My vision is to establish Quick Hydraulics as the leading technology experts in hydraulic systems in the North of England and North East of Scotland. I plan to enable growth in our current core hydraulic systems across all industry sectors, and to establish additional product and service capabilities to support our customer base.”

Mike Goldsworthy added: “This is an exciting development for Quick Hydraulics, and an opportunity for businesses in Yorkshire and the Humber to access a world leading hydraulic service, repair and training capability.”

The company is also planning expansion into Teesside.

Sigma Technologies relocated from Shipley to the larger Euroway estate base earlier due to rising demand.
