A BINGLEY firm of mortgage advisers has trebled the size of its offices, created three jobs and changed its name as it looks to continued growth.

Mortgage Q has invested around £50,000 in its new base at the former Yorkshire Bank premises in Main Street where it will open for business next Monday.

The £800,000 turnover firm, founded by Andrew Milnes in 2001, originally in Ilkley, has operated from first floor offices in Main Street for more than six years.

The move will see it expand from 800 sq ft of space to 2,400 sq ft and add two mortgage advisers and an office manager, taking its workforce to 11.

To coincide with the expansion, business principals Andrew and Tim Robinson have changed the company name to Mortgage Advice Bureau and will operate as part of a UK-wide network of more than 850 mortgage advisers.

Andrew said: “We have been looking for new premises for around two years. We were keen to stay in Bingley as we have developed strong links with the business community and local residents.

“The old Yorkshire Bank building has been empty since 2014 and we knew it would be the perfect size and location to enable the business to grow and achieve its potential, but we had to wait longer than expected for it to come on to the market. It’s taken a long time but we know we’ve made the right decision.

“I opened my first savings account at the branch in 1978 and could never have predicted we’d be opening new premises here 38 years later.”

The firm has spent nine weeks refurbishing and reworking the new premises, including the old banking counters and bullet proof glass and installing two interview rooms and redecoration.
