Helping two manufacturers tighten their security has provided £100,000-worth of new business for a Keighley specialist operator which has seen demand for CCTV systems rise by 35 per cent to record levels.

Keybury Fire & Security has provided a security package to Skipton-based Northern Paper Board which was key to expansion at its Engine Shed Lane base where the family-owned business is completing a major development and investment programme.

The company is one of the largest stockists and manufacturers of solid board boxes for the food processing industry across the UK and Ireland. Keybury has installed new CCTV, intruder and fire alarm and access control systems.

Managing director John Curran said: “The new access control system enables us to restrict access to authorised personnel only, while CCTV allows us to monitor production and despatch, also ensuring that our hygiene and quality policies are adhered to. It’s all about making sure that we meet the standards both our customers and our staff have come to expect.”

Keybury has also upgraded the CCTV at Kadel Engineering's 16,000sq ft premises in Ingrow Bridge Business Park. The system enables the company boss to remotely check the security of his premises while travelling.

Kadel Engineering, also a family-run company established in 1974, manufactures precision machined parts for the defence, rail, aerospace, satellite, medical and optics industries.

The upgraded system allows managing director Paul Rollins to remotely access and operate cameras while off site through a laptop or Smartphone.

He said: “It is proving a very powerful tool, both in terms of improved security provision and the fact that I can keep tabs on unmanned machines we operate.”

Keybury operations director Patrick Beebe said: “Our CCTV business is currently running at an all-time high, with sales up 35 per cent, driven both by strong demand and a growing awareness of bolt-on security benefits provided by modern-day technology.” Keybury Fire & Security, which also has offices in Skipton, Ilkley, Harrogate and York, is celebrating its 30th year in business.

Meanwhile, Baildon firm Keycare, a UK leader in the recovery and replacement of lost or stolen keys, has also clinched two new contracts.

The family-owned business, established in 1977, has forged partnerships with motor insurer 1st Central and Suffolk Constabulary, which will help to protect thousands of people across the UK against the soaring costs and replacing lost keys.

Insured drivers will automatically receive cover against missing or stolen keys when they renew or take out a 1st Central motor insurance policy.
