HIT musical Jersey Boys, American classic A View from the Bridge and a contemporary circus are among the productions coming to Bradford's Alhambra Theatre next year.

Set in 1950s New York and crackling with raw emotion, Arthur Miller play A View From The Bridge simmers with tension. In a close Italian immigrant community bound by codes of justice and vengeance, the scene is set for disaster when longshoreman Eddie Carbone and his wife welcome Sicilian cousins into their home, and Eddie's obsessive nature spirals out of control.

The play is brought to the Alhambra by the Touring Consortium Theatre Company which, as with previous productions To Sir With Love and Brassed Off which also came to the theatre over the past year, will be seeking local actors to join the ensemble.

Internationally acclaimed show Jersey Boys arrives in Bradford for a two-week run in April. Winner of 55 major awards worldwide, including the Olivier Award for Best New Musical, it tells the remarkable rise to stardom of one of the most successful bands in pop music history, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

The lively production features many of the band’s hits, including Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, December 1963 (Oh What A Night), Walk Like A Man and Sherry.

Arriving at the Alhambra in March is Cole Porter’s uplifting masterpiece Anything Goes. With a memorable score including Get A Kick Out of You, You’re the Top, It’s De-Lovely and Anything Goes, the show invites audiences to hop aboard a witty tale of romance and high jinks on the high seas, swept along by sassy heroines, mischievous mob bosses, comedy capers and tap dancing sailors.

A leader in the world of contemporary circus, Cirque Éloize has been creating moving performances filled with magic and stunning physical feats for 21 years. Performing within an inventive stage design and accompanied by an original musical score and video projections, 12 acrobats and multi-disciplinary artists will transport audiences between dream and reality in a stream of acrobatics, music and images. The production comes to the Alhambra as the only Yorkshire date on its UK tour.

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s feel good Wild West musical Oklahoma! makes a long-awaited return to the Alhambra. From the minute rugged cowboy Curly steps on to the stage singing Oh, What A Beautiful Mornin’ the colourful production overflows with much-loved numbers such as I’m Just A Girl Who Cain’t Say No, Surrey With A Fringe On Top, Kansas City, People Will Say We’re In Love and the rousing title song.
