A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a man in his 60s who was found collapsed outside a city centre shop.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent after the man collapsed outside the Poundworld Express store in Ivegate just before 3pm today.

The victim was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

At 4.40pm police attended the same hospital where they arrested a woman on suspicion of assaulting the man.

Police sealed off Ivegate for several hours as they conducted inquiries.

Officers were initially called to reports that someone had collapsed with a suspected heart attack. An officer carried out CPR at the scene.

A spokeswoman for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said an ambulance was called to reports of a man in his 60s who had collapsed with a suspected cardiac arrest.

She said the man was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary.

The investigation into the incident is being carried out by CID officers.
