POLICE were called to Bradford City Hall early today after a man climbed on to scaffolding and refused to come down.
The stand-off developed at about 5am, with the building and part of Centenary Square, cordoned off by police.
A man could be seen on the scaffolding talking to officers on the ground, amid fears he might have been threatening to jump.
Shortly before 8am, the man emerged from the building and was seen to have one of his arms bandaged by waiting paramedics.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said the man, 49, had been on the scaffolding for about three hours before coming down and had received treatment for a hand injury before being taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary for further assessment.
The Grade I listed 19th century building is shrouded in scaffolding as part of an extensive renovation programme.
