A BRADFORD man aged 21 is behind bars awaiting a prison sentence for sexually abusing two little girls when he was a boy.

Aaron Cachia, of Frensham Drive, Great Horton, was today convicted by a jury at Bradford Crown Court of six charges of sexual assault and two counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

Cachia was aged 11 to 14 at the time and his young victims were aged seven to eight.

The jury was told by prosecutor Michael Smith that the offences came to light after one girl sent Cachia a Facebook message when she was 14 that begun: "Hey, remember me? I haven't forgot what happened."

The court heard that Cachia had no previous convictions.

The trial judge, Recorder Tahir Khan QC, remanded him into custody and adjourned sentence to a date to be fixed for the preparation of a report from the probation service.

Mr Smith said both Cachia's victims had suffered very obvious upset and had found the trial process difficult.

Recorder Khan said the defendant had repeatedly molested each girl over a two year period.

He told Cachia: "The overwhelming likelihood is that you will go to prison for these offences."

He refused to extend his bail to the sentencing hearing because he feared he would not turn up.
