A COW was killed and a car written off in a crash on Baildon Moor.
The driver and passenger were unhurt but the animal died at the scene of the accident which happened shortly before midnight yesterday, said a police spokesman.
It happened one hour after police received a report of a large animal being on the road which then wandered back into its field, said the spokesman.
The car involved was understood to have been travelling towards Baildon from Eldwick when it struck the cow by the cattle grid near the junction of Bingley Road and Glen Road then careered off the road.
"No doubt there will be discussions about liability between the car owner and the farmer involved," said the police spokesman.
