A BRADFORD College student was rushed to hospital after falling down a stairwell in the David Hockney Building.
The student was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with suspected leg and pelvic injuries after he fell from the second floor to the first floor while "misusing the staircase".
A spokesman for Bradford College said: "We can confirm that a student was injured in a fall yesterday.
"Eye witness reports and CCTV footage of the incident confirm that, at approximately 4pm on Wednesday February 3, a student was misusing the staircase between the second and first floors of the David Hockney Building.
"First aiders and security staff were on the scene immediately and paramedics were called. The student was taken to the Leeds General Infirmary for further assessment.
"We are liaising directly with the family and monitoring the situation.
"No further statements will be issued in relation to this incident and we would ask that we respect the privacy of the student and the student’s family at this time."
A spokesman for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said it was called to the college to reports that someone had fallen.
She said an ambulance was sent and the male patient was taken to LGI with possible leg and pelvis injuries.
