A GOVERNMENT minister has congratulated a Bradford primary school for helping disadvantaged pupils.
Hill Top Primary School in Low Moor is one of 38 Yorkshire schools praised by education and childcare minister Sam Gyimah (pictured) for effectively using Government funding called the Pupil Premium to fulfil the potential of poorer children.
It has now been invited to put itself forward for a national Pupil Premium award.
One of the prizes up for grabs is an activity session at the National Media Museum in Bradford.
Vicky Clifton, head of learning and participation at the museum, said: "The winners of this award will be working extremely hard to reduce the attainment gap, so we are really looking forward to welcoming them into the museum.
"While they are here pupils will take part in a whole host of activities, which will help them to engage with the world of science in a way that sparks their imagination and raises their aspirations."
