AHOY there!
People living in Holme Wood got a taste of life on the ocean wave when pupils from Knowleswood Primary School dressed up as swashbuckling pirates and set sail through the estate's streets, bringing a ray of Caribbean sunshine to the neighbourhood.
Children in year two at the school in Knowles Lane have been studying the Caribbean comparing St Lucia to Bradford this term.
Their fancy dress carnival was the culmination of a five week project designing their own costumes and props.
The youngsters had help from Roots and Wings, an Arts and Health project based in school, said class teacher Danielle Noble.
She added: "We had our very own sunshine costume on the parade so despite the British drizzle we were joined by family and friends of the pupils along the route.
"Passers by waved and beeped their horns with true community spirit and while others came out of the shops and their homes to watch us go by."
