A 23-YEAR-OLD man has been locked up as a “three strikes” burglar after stealing cash and gold jewellery from a family home in Bradford.
Jahniah Thompson (pictured) of Westcroft Road, Great Horton, Bradford, was jailed for 876 days at Bradford Crown Court yesterday when he appeared on a video link to Leeds Prison.
That represents three years for a “third strike” housebreaker with discount for a guilty plea.
Thompson admitted burgling £300 cash, gold rings and earrings from a house in Leylands Avenue, Heaton, on July 26.
He and an accomplice were seen by a neighbour breaking into the unoccupied property.
Police caught Thompson running away but he had none of the stolen items on him and nothing was recovered.
Thompson was locked up for two years in 2013 for burgling homes in Heaton, Wibsey and Horton Bank.
His victims included an elderly couple who had £1,000 of jewellery stolen.
