POLICE are investigating two firearms incidents within minutes in Shipley last night.

Detectives are hunting two masked men on a motorbike after shots were fired in nearby streets.

A door was damaged in one of the incidents but nobody was injured.

Police were called at about 9.50pm after shots were heard and damage was found to the door of an address in Marlott Road.

A short time later shots were also reported to have been heard in West Royd Avenue.

No damage was found to have been caused at that address.

Police are treating the incidents as linked and would like to speak to anyone who saw two men acting suspiciously on a motorbike in the area.

Both are believed to have had their faces covered.

A police spokesman this afternoon said that a 28-year-old Shipley man had been arrested today on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. He is in custody.

Inquiries are continuing in the area today and neighbourhood officers will be happy to speak to anyone with concerns.
