STAFF at a Bradford city centre pub were greeted by a surprise guest when they opened up one morning this week, when they spotted a green parrot standing in the rafters.

The bird, which also had a small red plume of feather on its head and is slightly smaller than a pigeon, was spotted in the skylight of The Sir Titus Salt Wetherspoon pub in Morley Street on Tuesday morning.

Sandy Moccia, pub manager, said she believes the parrot, which has since escaped from the pub, is a domestic parrot on the loose.

She said: "It was really high up in the pub by the skylight, but we managed to get it down a bit through some coaxing and offering bird food to it.

"I think it was a domestic bird, because it looked well fed and if you whistled it would respond, but we haven't had anyone contact us about it since we shared the pictures on our Facebook page.

"It's left the pub now, and the cornershop over the road said it has flown in there, and has been seen flying around the area."

If you believe this bird could be yours or have any information as to who the owner could be, please get in touch.
