One of Yorkshire's most iconic mill complexes is back in the spotlight once again.

Sunny Bank Mills in Farsley was once the home of Yorkshire Television's Emmerdale and Heartbeat.

Now TV crews have returned to the mill town once again, producing the popular BBC One show, The Great British Sewing Bee.

It comes after the former textile mill was used for the Christmas special.

Previous series were filmed in London at The Chainstore on Trinity Buoy, a studio based in Bermondsey and Tanner Street, where BBC show Dragon’s Den is filmed.

The mills have been transformed over the years by William and John Gaunt – leading to the creation of shops, restaurants and cafes, businesses, music venues, bars and an art gallery.

The mills were built in 1829 and have been in the Gaunt family for six generations.

The sewing competition has just passed the halfway point.

Each episode of The Great British Sewing Bee airs at 9pm on Wednesday.

The next episode will see sewers put to the test with lace bra and knicker sets.

The sewers will then turn thermals into daywear and fit a pair of luxury pyjamas to their male models.

The series is presented by comedian Sara Pascoe, along with judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young.
