For years, there have been whispers of a top-secret complex within West Yorkshire, where rumours of inhumane experiments have begun to spiral. But is that all they are? Just rumours? Are you brave enough to enter the Clearsafe and expose its secrets or will you become the facility’s next procedure?

Located at the heart of Halifax, Project Breakout’s latest escape room ‘The Clearsafe’ opened in October 2018 and since then has gained local attention as well as earning Trip Advisor’s ‘Travelers’ choice’ Award and retaining its title as Yorkshire’s biggest escape room.  

The escape room invests the players into the story of a group of investigative journalists and likeminded activists, who have managed to infiltrate Halifax’s most secret complex, where rumours have spread surrounding the facility’s illegal and inhumane testing of innocent people, in order to reveal the final truth. Unfortunately, the same day, the facility’s test subjects have planned their revenge and have broken out of their containment units. Faced with the possibility of their illegal experiments becoming common knowledge, the head scientist opts to begin ‘Operation Clearsafe’, locking down the entire building, and initiating explosives, which detonate in exactly 60 minutes, in order to completely remove any trace of the facility’s existence. To ensure no creature survives, a team of security guards known as ‘The Black Lions’ have now also entered the building with strict orders to shoot on sight. With the whole of the building transformed into a warzone, the group must escape through the basement, with exactly 60 minutes before a fatal death.  

‘Operation Clearsafe is a thrilling experience for the whole family’ states Milana Urbanovica, age 14, after escaping the facility in exactly 59 minutes and 57 seconds alongside Safa Afzal, who also enjoyed the exhilarating experience, as stated ‘I felt my heart racing! The game was truly action-packed and full of mystery!’  

Consisting of four rooms, The Clearsafe is complete with live actors, jump scares and a series of special effects; appealing to the players senses and encasing them in the room’s terrifying tale! Designed to suit multiple groups, players can choose the level of theatre featured in their rooms, from mild interactions and thrills perfect for the whole family, through to exhilarating jump scares, unsuitable for the faint-hearted!
