A BRADFORD shopping centre will host a day of celebrations to mark Eid.

As Ramadan ends, The Broadway will host an Eid celebration on Saturday, April 22 from 11am to 5pm. The event will feature Dhol drummers performing and henna artists primed to get shoppers ready for their own celebrations.

People are invited to leave donations for the henna service and all proceeds will go to The Broadway’s charity partner, Bradford Nightstop.

Ian Ward, general manager of The Broadway, said: “Eid is a hugely exciting celebration and this year we’re really pulling out all the stops to make it extra special for shoppers.

“Bradford has a rich cultural heritage and we are honoured to be able to take part in Eid celebrations as Ramadan comes to an end.

“In the spirit of Eid, we are inviting shoppers to make a charitable donation to Bradford Nightstop when taking advantage of the henna service- the local charity supports youth homelessness across Bradford.’’

There will also be a ‘Giving Box’ located outside the Marks & Spencer store.

Shoppers are invited to donate a gift that will be distributed to children who are in hospitals throughout Bradford and are unable to celebrate Eid at home.

The Giving Box is part of Raising Explorers and the Global Rahmah Foundation’s Gift for Eid campaign.
