THEY’VE done it!

The Lionesses have made it to the World Cup Final – their first ever – after beating co-hosts Australia 3-1 at Stadium Australia, in Sydney on Wednesday.

Goals from Ella Toone, Lauren Hemp, and Alessia Russo ensured England made history, despite the semblance of a comeback from superstar Sam Kerr, and went one better than in 2019, when they lost to eventual winners USA at the semi-final stage.

The European champions will take on Spain this Sunday, at Stadium Australia again.

Sarina Wiegman – who now has four finals out of four on her record – will have to navigate her players past a Spanish side rife with talent, including nine players from last season’s Champions League winners Barcelona.

But come 11am on Sunday, spirits will be high in the hope the Lionesses can go the whole way and a host of pubs, bars and groups in Bradford are joining in with the festivities.

Sean Lowe, Co-Director of Q Gardens, in Pearson Road, Odsal said he has noticed a “buzz” around the Lionesses and will be showing the final on Sunday, opening at 10am as usual.

Meanwhile, Chapel House – a Greene King pub in Low Moor – is “calling on the nation to join a party fit for a final” on Sunday.

Anyone who visits the pub, or any other participating location under the franchise, between 11am and 2pm wearing the England kit, England colours, or England face paint will be able to claim a free drink.
