The fire service has issued a warning to the public after photos emerged of a cyclist riding through a cordon.
The cyclist was seen in the cordon, among fire engines, police cars, and hoses during an ongoing incident on Thornton Road today.
There was a huge emergency services presence after a crash near the junction of Hollings Road and Hockney Road.
Residents living nearby were urged to close their windows and doors amid fears of a gas leak.
'Entering a cordon could potentially put your life at risk'
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service has urged people to respect cordons and why they are put in place.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “Cordons are set up around areas that could contain potential hazards to protect our communities while we try and make the area safe.
“Entering a cordon could potentially put your life at risk. You could also cause a distraction or obstruction to the operational crews and our partners working at the scene.
“We would ask all members of the public to please always respect a cordon that we have put in place – we recognise these may be inconvenient but we do this to keep you safe – and would hate to see someone hurt through ignoring these perimeters.”
