A PITCH invader escaped a banning order because he "showed no aggression" by hugging a player at Bradford City's Valley Parade.
Keiron Jackson, of Ridgeway in Worksop, took to the pitch when the Bantams were defeated 5-1 by Mansfield Town on March 16.
Jackson admitted to the offence when his case was heard at Bradford Magistrates Court.
Court documents say the 24-year-old was not banned for several reasons.
Jackson had no relevant previous convictions, and "showed no aggression when he was in the playing area - he hugged a player who hugged him back and was escorted out without causing any issues".
They add that the bench considered Jackson's "lack of maturity and genuine remorse".
Jackson was handed a 12-month conditional discharge.
He must also pay £85 in court costs and a £26 victim surcharge.
