A man has appeared in crown court this afternoon charged with the murder of a woman in Bradford last weekend.
Habibur Rahman Masum, 25, of Leamington Avenue, Burnley, appeared via video link from HMP Leeds today for a bail hearing at Bradford Crown Court and spoke to confirm his name and date of birth.
Kulsuma Akter, 27, from Oldham, died after being stabbed on Westgate in Bradford at the junction with Drewton Road at 3:21pm on Saturday.
Prosecutor Alisha Kaye said: “This defendant appears before the court for murder committed on April 6. The victim was Kulsuma Akter. This is the first hearing in this court for this matter.”
His Honour Judge Jonathan Rose set a date of May 10 for a plea and trial preparation hearing and a two-week trial to begin on November 18.
He remanded Masum in custody.
