POLICE have revealed that swastikas were scratched onto 13 cars during a "racially aggravated" criminal damage attack.

West Yorkshire Police is continuing to appeal for information after several vehicles were damaged in the Ilkley area.

The criminal damage offences happened on Riddings Road, Hawksworth Street, and Cow Pasture Road on March 22, April 12, and April 15.

A spokesperson for the force said a swastika was scratched onto 13 car doors and the offences are being treated as "racially aggravated".

Officers released images CCTV images yesterday of a man they would like to identify in relation to the investigation.

Inspector John Barker from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We are appealing for the identity of the male in this picture and anyone with information is asked to contact us.  

“Offences like this have a huge impact on the local community, my officers will be out providing reassurance to residents.”
