Trinity Academy Bradford rated 'good' in Ofsted report

Trinity Academy Bradford, on Deanstones Lane, Queensbury, received the lowest possible rating back in 2019, when it was Queensbury Academy.

Following an inspection on March 19 and 20, the school, which has 911 pupils on the roll, was rated 'outstanding' for personal development.

It was then 'good' in the rest of the categories; quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, and leadership and management.

The school joined the Trinity Multi Academy Trust in February 2021.

The report said the school is "proud to serve the local community" and is a "popular choice for pupils and their families".

Inspectors said: "Leaders, the trust and the governing body are united in giving the pupils at Trinity Academy Bradford a springboard to a happy, healthy and successful life."

Ofsted recognised that "under their leadership, the school is going from strength to strength" and that "pupils appreciate the recent improvements the school has made".

The school is said to recognise that the "attendance of disadvantaged pupils is not where they want it to be" and plans are in place to "help to continue to raise their attendance".

Principal Tom Taylor said: “When the school joined the trust in February 2021 it faced many challenges, not least the fact the country was in its second national lockdown due to Covid.

"From the outset, our aim has been clear; to provide our students with an excellent education as well as opportunities that establish the platform for them to go on to achieve their potential and beyond.

"Staff, students, and the local community have worked tirelessly to significantly improve the quality of the academy’s educational provision.

"From the outset, our vision has been firmly aligned with that of our students and parents/carers.

"Our students are a credit to the academy and have taken on board our high standards and expectations."

Mr Taylor added: "This Ofsted report confirms how together we are as a community and recognises the hard work that all stakeholders have put in to transform the school into one that parents can now be proud to send their children to.

"Throughout the process, it was clear that the views of students would be listened to, and rightly so.

"Students spoke with pride about how the school has significantly improved and that staff support that them to achieve their potential.

"We are immensely proud of our students and were delighted to hear their comments in the feedback from the inspectors."
