SIR - In January we were informed that “a piece of concrete” fell into the lower car park at the Interchange. It was closed for a safety inspection to take place.

Here we are in April, being told very little, it seems it's a secret to be kept from the public. Why has it taken so long to determine another set of inspections are to take place? If this was Leeds, it would have taken place and works commenced.

It seems there is little or no pace to these inspections, maybe we will hear by June. Meanwhile the Interchange is closed, folk are trying their best to travel on buses, more so, trying to find where they travel from.

With all the other works going on around the city centre, its not in the best interests to keep us in the dark nor provide an alternative bus station albeit on a temporary basis.

I can foresee us having no Interchange till maybe 2025. I note they are seeking to remove buses from driving through the city centre. Why would they have an Interchange station in the city centre? Just a thought.
