HOME advantage could be crucial for Farsley tomorrow as they host renowned cup battlers Blyth Spartans in the first round of the FA Trophy.

Farsley are giving away a division in the tale of the tape but in real terms there are only ten league places between the sides and their visitors, so a toe-to-toe battle is on the cards.

Spartans are very much in a relegation scrap so might relish the distraction of a knockout battle in which they are top of the bill – but Farsley are very much cock of the walk at Throstle Nest and will be looking to land a haymaker.

Neil Parsley's men are seventh in the lower tier of the Evo-Stik League, pushing for a play-off place, and will be looking forward to testing themselves against one of the Premier Division's strugglers.

Farsley have won six of their eight home games – four in the league and two in the cup – and have also drawn one and lost one.

BRIGHOUSE TOWN lost in the preliminary round of the Trophy so will be looking to make the most of a rearranged Division One North league game tomorrow at Harrogate Railway Athletic.

Paul Quinn's men are on the back of two consecutive league defeats, which have seen them tumble to 17th. But while they are three places below their hosts, they are just one point worse off so would leapfrog Railway with a win.

The fixture was originally scheduled for a Monday night at the end of September but instead the sides met that night, at the same Station View venue, in the West Riding County Cup first round.

Town will have the psychological advantage as they won that tie 2-1 with goals from Martin Allison and Shaquille Clarke-Adams, who was sent off at Silsden in Tuesday night's 6-2 County Cup second-round defeat.
