JIMMY Lowes is refusing to underestimate his old club Hunslet as the Bulls prepare to face Leeds star Brett Delaney at Odsal on Sunday.

Aussie second-rower Delaney has joined Barry Eaton's Hawks on dual registration and will play this weekend.

Jimmy Keinhorst, Josh Walters and Robbie Mulhern all featured for Hunslet in last weekend's win over Dewsbury – along with former Bulls junior George Flanagan, who is set for an emotional return to his boyhood club.

"I know Brett Delaney from my time at Leeds and he's a fantastic player as well as a good bloke," said Lowes.

"He will be a challenge for us and Jimmy Keinhorst is another player who I rate very highly.

"I coached George Flanagan for a year in the Bradford scholarship and he's a good player who has done well since leaving Odsal.

"You have to find a way of keeping in the game and I know he was disappointed to leave Bradford – but not everyone can stay at one club.

"The good thing with George was that he kept going and kept believing in himself. He's doing a good job at Hunslet.

"They played well last weekend and they have a good balance with the Rhinos players there and some young blokes who just want to play rugby. They're a challenge for any team."

Winger Danny Williams is available again after a one-match ban but Etu Uaisele and Chris Ulugia are likely to keep their place on the Bulls wings.

Harry Siejka remains suspended and Lowes is without at least a handful of players through injury.

The Bulls boss grew up in Belle Isle and is looking forward to facing the club where it all started for him.

He said: "I signed for Hunslet when I was 16 or 17 and had six great years there. We played and trained at Elland Road back then and there have been a lot of changes since I was there.

"I had a great time there with some fantastic people such as the chairman Grahame Liles, who really looked after me. I was a young lad growing up and enjoying my rugby with a good bunch of blokes.

"I had a couple of stints in Australia when I was at Hunslet, so it was a good time in my life before I moved to Leeds."

Meanwhile, Hunslet yesterday released a statement announcing that Danny Grimshaw has been "absent" from the club for the past fortnight.

The Hawks say they are endeavouring to resolve the situation with the half-back, who remains a contracted player for 2015.
