WEST Bowling are seeking a rare treble when they journey to renowned Leeds-based Queens in the PENNINE LEAGUE Premier Division on Saturday.

Bowling will be without their highly-rated hooker Joe Lumb but the bad news is tempered significantly by the reappearance of powerhouse packman Jack Milburn from a back injury.

The three-quarter line is also strengthened with the return of speedster Chris Curtain for what is bound to be a rough and tough encounter.

Wests squeezed out a 28-22 home win in November thanks to a late winner from loose forward Richard Lumb and added the Queens scalp to their belts once again in the Valentine's Day Presidents Cup clash with a backs-to-the-wall 16-8 success.

Coach Glenn Barraclough will also have one eye focused on the Odsal Sedbergh versus Allerton Bywater Championship game at Odsal Rec.

Allerton, who are due to visit Emsleys Rec in the semi-final of the Presidents Cup on April 11, will not be relishing a trip to face a Sedge side that are proving a hard nut to crack as the Championship draws to a close conclusion.

Gary Priestley’s boys gave Batley Boys short shrift last time out and are more than capable of giving their neighbours Bowling a helping hand prior to the semi-final clash.

Victoria Rangers may have slipped down the Division One table but Boothtown Terriers, who have home advantage, will need to be at their best if they wish to keep up with the top two promotion contenders.

Wyke, who have been performing like beauty and the beast in their recent games, have a plethora of injuries for their trip to Hunslet Club Parkside, who are second in the Division Two table. John Raynor, Simon Owen, Calvin Barker, Phil Oliver and Ryan Exley miss the bus, leaving a huge hole in the black and whites ranks.

West Bowling A entertain fellow Division Four strugglers Dewsbury Celtic and there are a number of crucial clashes in Division Six West.

Top dogs Worth Village will not find life easy against visitors Queensbury B, while second-placed Meltham All Blacks could have things all their own way at Wyke A, who are bound to be affected by first team calls.

Victoria Rangers A, who welcome Boothtown Terriers A and Odsal Sedbergh A, who travel to Illingworth A, are nicely poised for any slip-ups.
