THORNTON United will finish top of the Bradford Sunday Alliance League for the first time if they avoid defeat at home to fellow Premier Division title hopefuls West Bowling tomorrow.

Only a Bowling victory at Manningham Mills would send the contest to a final weekend. They would then trail Thornton by two points ahead of last-day games at Bolton Woods and Sandy Lane respectively.

It is also tight at the Division One summit, with leaders Oakenshaw and second-placed White Eagles both at home before they go head to head next Thursday.

Only a win would be enough for Oakenshaw, who have a game in hand on their title rivals, to clinch top spot this weekend. They face third-bottom Wyke Rangers while Eagles host fifth-placed Manningham.
