BRADFORD boxer Hamed Ghaz is celebrating his third straight victory since turning professional.

The 18-year-old welterweight from Undercliffe beat Kristian Laight in a fight that went the distance but saw Ghaz win 40-36 on points.

The Bradford College student, who turned pro last June, is rated highly and regularly spars with Leeds fighter Adil Anwar at a gym in Burmantofts.

Ghaz, who paid tribute to his sponsors and trainer Mark Bateson, said: "Kristian Laight is a tough and experienced fighter, so I was delighted to beat him.

"It was a great fight that went the distance and I won every round with some clean and fast punches.

"I trained extremely hard for it and had a great training camp in Spain at the MGM boxing gym in Marbella.

"Now I'm looking forward to the next chapter in my career."
