BRADFORD Park Avenue have signed midfielder Paul Marshall from FC Halifax Town.

The National League North club say the 25-year-old turned down a new deal at The Shay to join their neighbours.

Marshall has been with Vanarama National League outfit Halifax since returning for a second spell in 2013, missing just 11 games in two seasons.

He began his career with Manchester City but never made a first-team appearance, his other clubs including Port Vale, Rochdale, Walsall and Stockport County (when they were in the Football League).

Marshall links up with other Avenue summer signings in striker James Walshaw, midfielder Michael Potts and goalkeeper Jon Stewart as the new management duo of Martin Drury and Jamie Price formulate their squad for the forthcoming campaign.

Some departures have also been confirmed as Drury and Price work within their budget.

Forward Lamin Colley is moving to rivals Stockport, while Alex Davidson is joining newly-promoted Shaw Lane Aquaforce.

Davidson will join fellow former Avenue trio Danny Frost, Fernando Moke and Luke O'Brien at the ambitious Evo-Stik League newcomers.

Colley showed a lot of promise in his first season at Horsfall after signing from Evo-Stik League Division One North club Harrogate Railway Athletic last October.

But Davidson's season never got going after he suffered a serious knee injury.

Last season's keeper John Danby, whose exit was confirmed last week, has signed for Welsh Premier League outfit Gap Connah's Quay.
