MOHAMMED Qadeer hit an incredible 32 runs in one over as Smart Moves opened up a three-point gap at the top of Bradford & District Evening League Division One.

He finished unbeaten on 50 as they passed Tong Park Esholt's 16-over total of 91-7 with only four wickets down inside half the time.

Shelf moved up to second after a high-scoring encounter with Great Horton Park Chapel.

Micky Hustler (53no) was joined at the wicket by Abbas Ahmed (37) with their team at 24-3, but superb batting helped them reach 168-5.

Sajid Khan took 3-18 off his four overs, and he was to prove Shelf’s match-winner as his 30 not out meant his team claimed the points with a ball to spare.

Denholme’s Jack Hainsworth (50no) continued his fine form as his side made 115-7 but Waheed Rehman (37no) was the cornerstone of Salem’s innings, securing the points with a six off the penultimate ball.

Half-centuries from Jack Holland (53no) and overseas pro Siddant Adhatrao (52no) were in vain for Thackley as Thornton overhauled their score of 153-6 with two overs to spare, captain Nikki Hutchinson (54no) leading the way.

In Division Two, Stonewhite continued their promotion challenge with a win over rivals Indian Panthers.

Stonewhite's Mohammed Jamal (48no) helped to push his side to 138-8 but Panthers’ challenge faltered early as they found themselves at 15-4, with two wickets to Zahir Abbas, although they rallied to 127-6.

John Breare relinquished second spot to Mayfield when Imran Khalid (50no) helped them to 154-4.

Valiant efforts by Kevin McDermott (38) and Ben Waller (28) maintained Breare’s challenge but a fine spell from Mohammed Faisel (4-22) proved instrumental in stopping their reply at 127-6.

Jordan Laban’s half-century ensured a second consecutive win for Buttershaw St Paul’s, this time at early-season front-runners Cambing, while skipper Rafaqat Mehmood (52no) helped Shipley Providence to 115-7, with Cross Roads & Daisy Hill being skittled for 46 in reply, only Bryan Greenwood (13) making double figures.
