WARNING: Anyone of a nervous disposition should stay clear whenever Steeton and Rawdon meet in the Aire-Wharfe League.

The sides played out a tense tie on the opening day of the season and came close to doing it again before Steeton scrambled over the line by one wicket.

Stephen Pearson's 4-38 spell saw Rawdon slip from 81-1 to 105-6 on their way to a modest 148, which looked a comfortable target when Steeton passed the half-century mark with only two wickets down

But Rawdon started to hold on to their catches and, with Andrew Doidge (3-34) and George Myers (5-48) making inroads, they were soon staring at defeat at 99-8.

When No 10 Pearson was joined by last man Josh Gill, they still needed 22 – but the pair kept their heads down and clinched a thrilling win.

There was no such tension at Otley where Sam Blake (3-27) and Ricky Halloran (3-23) restricted Bilton to 84, half of which were scored by Vic Craven.

Otley reached their target in 15.4 overs but it meant no batting points so their lead at the top was reduced to ten by Beckwithshaw, who took the maximum off struggling Guiseley.

Guiseley remain just above the relegation spots held by Ilkley and Follifoot, who went head to head.

Follifoot, who only find themselves in trouble because of a points deduction, set a target of 226-8 and, despite the efforts of Will Spivey (40), Alex Bailey (33) and No 10 Henry Wilson (26), Ilkley could only manage 176.

Three wickets each from Lewis Morgan and James Frost dismissed North Leeds for 102 and even though Burley struggled at first, Nick Brook (25no) and Muhammad Ullah (21no) saw them to victory.

Leon Harber (59) and Ollie Hardaker (48) steadied things after Division Two leaders Horsforth were reduced to 19-2.

Ryan Sharrocks (66) and Mark Gilliver (55) then put on 119 for the fifth wicket on the way to 261-7.

Sharrocks went on to pick up 4-31 and, with Michael Lambert (3-46) and Gareth Lee (3-45), bowled out Thackley for 178, in which Siddhant Adhatrao made 79.

That keeps Horsforth three points ahead of Colton, who skittled out Tong Park Esholt for 99 in reply to their own 258-8.

Australian Jake Zslinszky hit 79 to pass 500 runs for the season and, with Tosh Baker (73), helped Pool to 278. Sam Wilson then took 5-29 as they crushed Adel by 189 runs to move up to third.

Kevin Owens (65) and Richard Nichols, with a ten-over spell of 5-19, starred as Skipton kept in the promotion race with a 99-run win over Harden.

Charlie Swallow (111) and Lewis Bolton (41) led the way as Ben Rhydding made 241-7 at Green Lane.

A sparkling 88 from Tony Cornwell put Lane on track but Swallow (4-59) and Tom Pratt (3-56) made inroads and Kervan Christmas picked up the last two wickets to clinch a one-run win.

The upset of the day came with Bolton Villas' crushing nine-wicket defeat of Division Three leaders New Rover after South African David Bayne (8-25) had bowled them out for 55.

That put Villas just three points off the lead and Addingham moved into third with a win at Olicanian, who were restricted to 179-8 as Harry Smallwood (52) top-scored. Ricky Palacio hit 63 as Addingham got home by two wickets.

Charlie Parker (7-59) took his seasonal tally to 50 wickets as Menston overcame promotion rivals Old Modernians by 30 runs.

Jonathan Hudson (5-25) and Jatinder Singh (4-39) dismissed Alwoodley for 104 to give Calverley a comfortable victory – but Hall Park's winning run hit the buffers when they were bowled out for 116 in reply to Upper Wharfedale's 301-5.

Silsden are still searching for their first win, despite a season's best of 243 in which Majid Inayat scored 88.

They finally dismissed Bardsey opener Matt Ansell (118), leaving the visitors needing two to win with one wicket left, which they scrambled on the last available ball.
