OAKWORTH's second team will be barred from promotion to Division One of the Mewies Solicitors Craven League as their first team play in that section.

However, that has not stopped the reserves from going top of Division Two.

Jack Ellis took 6-33 and Richard Cavender 4-14 as hosts and former leaders Thornton-in-Craven could only muster 78, David Holt (34) being the sole player to reach double figures. Oakworth won by seven wickets in 18.2 overs, Drew Duffy making 39.

Both Denholme and Long Lee only had three players each in double figures in a low-scoring derby at Golden View.

However, Ben Burkill (45), Adam Taylor (37) and Toby Priestley (35) just gave Denholme the edge as they made 143, Shahbaz Ahmed (4-40) and Dave Collins (3-9) doing best for the hosts with the ball.

Ahmed then scored 49, Jonathan Green 24 and Richard Ayrton 14 in Long Lee's 125 as Ryan Judson took 4-43 and Matty Wear 4-45.

Cowling remain equal third but were given a decent test at basement boys Gargrave.

The visitors made 152-8, of which Mark Adams scored 47 and Wasim Hussain 34, but Martyn Dalby returning a match-winning 6-51 in Gargrave's 135.

Glusburn stay fifth but almost paid for collapsing from 128-1 at next-to-bottom Hepworth & Idle.

Dave Atkinson (77) and Neil Freeman (29) added 77 for Glusburn's first wicket but they only finished with 178-7 as Jonathan Thompson bagged 4-39 and Sean McEneaney 3-41.

The Westfield Laners, who were 95-6, replied with 176-9, Gareth Goodaire (45) and McEneaney (31no) putting on 69 for the seventh wicket after Mark Davies had made 32, Atkinson taking 5-41 in a cracking contest.

Bradley's 193-7 was largely down to James Heseltine (45), James Robinson (40) and Craig Tempest (34) but that was insufficient as home side Wilsden won by seven wickets in 32 overs, Colin Bottomley starring with 111 not out and Stuart Wilson backing him up with an unbeaten 45.

Dan Scott was an all-round star for Ingrow at home to Airedale, taking 3-48 and scoring 34 as the home side won by five wickets.

Both sides had batting heroes, with Nick Ahad hitting 78 for Airedale in their 143, Jake Hoyle taking 3-41, and Mark Price replying with 73.

In Division One, Ingrow St John's and Oakworth continue to lead the way.

Nadeem Safdar (3-25) and Wasim Hussain (3-49) were among the wickets for Saints at home to Barrowford, who made 166, Imran Zaman (48), Deepal Dissanayake (39) and Omar Khatab (22) giving the home side a great start before Safdar (36no) finished the job off in good time with six wickets down.

Oakworth were 34-3 and 135-6 at home to Chatburn but still reached 252 as No 8 Adam Smith blasted 73 off 23 balls, including ten fours and four sixes.

Gareth Marshall had earlier made 47, Brannan Lawn (32), Lewis Wrathall (30) and Joel Gallagher (29) weighing in lower down the order before Jack Davison took 5-37 as Chatburn were restricted to 136.

Vikram Bakshi continued his impressive bowling with 5-7 for Crossflatts as Haworth were skittled for 127, Dan Trowers (48) and Jamie Rowell (19) having put on 71 for the second wicket as they chased 205 for victory.

Jim O'Hare claimed 3-48 to back up his 41 not out at No 10 as Crossflatts made 204-9, wicket-keeper Dom Bennett making 51 and Qamar Ayub 32 as Jamie Rowell took 3-30, Richard Ellis 3-50 and Damian Rowell 3-63.

A remarkable spell of bowling by Scott Robinson (5.4-3-5-6) helped to turn things around for Embsay at former joint-leaders Bingley Congs, who were 94-2 and 107 all out.

Embsay took only 30 overs to knock the runs off, putting more daylight between themselves and the bottom three.

Sutton are one of that trio after Ben Bolland (4-35) and Simon Doane (3-53) had restricted hosts Haworth Road Meths to 185, of which Muhammad Zahid made 48 and Ian Robson 42.

The visitors made a good start, thanks to skipper Craig Thornton (44), Richard Walker (38) and David Snowden (37) but then fell away to 154 all out as Zahid completed a good day by taking 4-39.

Riddlesden were the highest scorers in the division with 355-8 at home to Foulridge, Amjid Hussain cracking 131, Zahir Abbas 53 and Ehsan Khan 49. The visitors were toppled for 140, Mohammed Zulfiqar bagging 3-19 and Goher Ayoub 3-36.

Joint-Division Three front-runners Cononley found things almost as easy at home to fourth-placed Riddlesden, Scott Brook taking 6-38 and Jack Hatton 3-31 as the visitors were castled for 139, Danny Spencer scoring 47 and Steve Kernan 36.

Charles Calvert (44) was the main contributor as the hosts won by four wickets in the 38th over but Joe Holt (4-70 and 51) was very much a lone hand as Haworth West End lost by 101 runs at Baildon Bottom, Ali Asghar starring for Meths with 100 not out and 3-17.

Ingrow St John's remain third after a convincing 85-run victory at Barrowford, Hasnat Bukhari starring with 41 not out and 4-18, while Denholme swept aside Sandy Lane by ten wickets as Cameron Foster (5-49), Jack Harrison (4-19 and 35no) and Michael Dennison (59no) were the heroes.

Bingley Congs' shock 16-run defeat at Airedale means that Hepworth & Idle are again leading Division Four.

Nazam Hanif (5-38 and 43) was a key figure for third-bottom Airedale, Giles Wilmore shepherding the tail with 34 in their 152-8 as young off-spinner Matty Brian skilfully took 2-20, while Michael Baines toiled for 3-43.

Ben Nattrass (31) gave the visitors a good start and Tony Teale (31) held firm in the middle order – but his dismissal and that of Dan Gibson were crucial as Yusuf Mohammed took 3-21.

Little seems to be stopping Crossflatts at the moment and Jonny Gath made 43 in their six-wicket win at home to ten-man Haworth after Bryan Freimanis (3-21) and Charlotte Boulton (2-26) had helped to dismiss the visitors for 131, of which Steve Pickup made an unbeaten 39.

Meanwhile, Wilsden had most of the key performers in their five-wicket victory at Foulridge, Harrison Houldsworth (5-29), Alan King (3-33) and Glenn Stableford (52no) starring.

Glusburn had ten men against Thornton and made 116, opener and skipper Mark Johnston scoring 51 as Dave Myers-Charles took 4-27. But No 8 Alan Coney (29) was the only other player to support him at home to Hepworth & Idle, who knocked off the runs for one wicket down in under 20 overs, Paul Medley cracking 73 and skipper John McDermott supporting him with 41 not out.

In contrast, Oakworth's third team knocked the highest score of the day with 359-5 at Bronte Fields against Gargrave, Matty Lee (92), Paul Carter (77), Joel Fothergill (50no) and James Lee (37) cashing in before Fothergill took 3-50 in Gargrave's spirited response of 252-8.

Cowling are the new leaders of Division Five, overtaking Sutton, who lost to Sandy Lane.

Cononley's Paul Hogg (68no) and Antony Radley (40) gave them a good start at Cowling and they ended up with 164-4, Cowling only knocking them off with two balls to spare for four down thanks to skipper Sajid Shafait (60no) and Tahir Mahmood (30).

Former leaders Sutton only had three players in double figures at Sandy Lane, opener Kane Booker leading the way with 40 as Irfan Ul Haque took 4-23, but the home side won easily after being 0-2, Muhammed Ulfat making an unbeaten 65.

Bradley also had just three players in double figures when they were rolled over for 63 at home to Ingrow, Alan Hayes taking 4-10, Frank Watkinson having earlier taken 5-31 in the visitors' 141, Simon Bolton making 48.

Long Lee could only muster eight men at Sandylands but four of them got starts in their 86 after Skipton CI had totalled 186-7, James Cooney bagging 5-66.
