INTERLINK have tightened their grip on Group A of the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League title after beating Apperley Bridge by five wickets.

Bridge were 6-4 but recovered to 137 thanks to a fifth-wicket partnership of 91 between Salman Qadir (55) and Sher Khan (35), Saleem Bhulla taking 5-27.

Interlink then made 138-5 in 34 overs, with Mohammed Data and Ibrahim Bismillah each scoring 35.

They now require 13 points from their remaining three games to win the title after a 17-year gap.

Nearest rivals Girlington slipped up in a big way, losing by 160 runs to Bradford Moor, who made 208-5 (Mohammed Qadeer 75no).

Girlington were then all out for 48, with Zafar Mahmood bagging 6-9.

VVS Laxman have moved into fourth, despite only having eight men against Salem Athletic.

Salem, who only had ten men themselves, won the toss by default and batted, scoring 184, of which Shah Faisal made 91 and Shahid Iqbal 49.

Laxman, helped by a 136-run opening stand between Balkrishna Shirke (134) and Rama Patel, replied with 185-2.

Great Horton Church remain third place after Mohammed Azam (4-22) and Ishtiaq Raza (3-12) helped to dis miss relegation-threatened Cambing for 73, Church winning by seven wickets.

Bradford Gymkhana are still bottom after making only 106 against Omars, Shamile Khan, Majid Hussain and Hamaad Shahid each taking three wickets before Omars were guided to a four-wicket win by Qamar Sadaq (41no).

Hallfield are back on top of Group B after beating Cross Roads & Daisy Hill by 68 runs, having scored 210 (Aseem Khan 46, M Noor 43, Ian Clayton 4-24). Daisy were then bowled out for 142, Kabir Hussain taking 4-31.

In Group C, Allerton remain top, despite losing to Parkside by 38 runs.

Parkside scored 155 (Anjum Rafiq 6-13), but Allerton could only make 117 (Saeed Afsar 5-17).

Yorkshire Friends are joint second with TABS and Cambing after notching a winning draw against the latter.

Friends scored 229 (Zeeshan Kazmi 85, Zaheer Abbas 45, Mohammed Umair 3-40) in 39 overs, Cambing holding out at 149-7 (Asad Khan 37, Fahim Jan 35) off 41 overs.

TABS defeated Great Horton Meths by five wickets after dismissing them for 90 (Dan Jackson 32, Shoaib Baig 4-20). TABS then made 91-5 (th M Saleem 45, A B Mughal 30).

Mayfield, inspired by skipper Sanjeev Kulkarni, who was playing his last home game before retirement, lead Group D after beating Muff Field by one wicket.

Muff Field made 122 (Peter Burkinshaw 35. Sanjeev Kulkarni 3-19, Shazad Ashraf 3-26) and Mayfield replied scored 123-9 (Kulkarni 55no, Gary Smith 7-11) off 36.1 overs, 16-year-old Charanpreet Mehta sharing an unbeaten 36-run partnership for the last wicket to see Mayfield home.
