CAMPION are hoping to join the Northern Counties East League next season.

The Taylor's Timber West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division club announced this week that they have been in discussions with representatives from the semi-professional league as to what improvements they would be required to make to their AA Van Hire Stadium to bring it into line with the Step Six ground criteria for the 2016-17 season.

Meanwhile, Campion Reserves side will be looking for their first double of the season in Division Two tomorrow.

Second-placed Honley, who they beat 2-1 in late August, are their visitors.

Wibsey, who have yet to post a league victory, entertain fourth-placed Overthorpe SC at Bankfoot Cricket Club, while West Horton host Ventus Yeadon Celtic at Myra Shay.

Steeton will be looking to bounce back from two consecutive home cup defeats – the West Riding County FA Challenge Cup and the Keighley & District FA Cup – when they visit second-placed Lepton Highlanders in the Premier Division.

Salts, who have won five of their eight away games, will be seeking another three points on the road when they take on Mirfield-based Lower Hopton, who they drew 2-2 with at home in September.

Tyersal, whose only two league victories have been over the two sides beneath them – Dudley Hill Rangers and Hunsworth – are at home to Kirkburton, who they lost to by 7-2 two months ago.

Without even a point from their games in the first half of the season, Hunsworth start the second half of their season at Ovenden West Riding.
