TOWNVILLE returned to winning ways in All Rounder Cricket Bradford League Championship B with an emphatic eight-wicket victory at Altofts.

Australian Matthew Bremner hit an unbeaten 65 and Jonathan Booth 63 in an opening stand of 112 which enabled Townville to overhaul Altofts' score of 176 all out.

Kiwi Matt Holstein hit a defiant 63 for Altofts as they found the going tough against Jack Hughes (4-38) and Conor Harvey (4-46).

Skipper Grant Soames took a match-winning 5-19 with his off spin as Methley bowled out Spen Victoria for 151 to secure a 118-run win. Peter Jackson made the top score of 52 for the losers.

Openers Hamid Khan (91) and Marcus Walmsley (40) got their side off to a good start before Ashton Blakey (65) joined Khan in a second-wicket stand of 129 which helped their side to a total of 206-9.

Overseas player Darryl Hendricks made a fine 81 as Wrenthorpe took just 18.5 overs to pass Hartshead Moor's total of 136 and secure an eight-wicket win.

Hartshead Moor's batsmen, with the exception of Craig Field (45) and Joe Bowman (30), struggled to come to terms with the bowling of Greg Wood (5-28) and Matthew Race (4-40).

Bowling Old Lane followed up their win over Townville with a nine-wicket success against Hopton Mills.

They dismissed Mills for just 62 with Adal Islam claiming an impressive 6-27 and Sadaqat Zaman 4-33. Islam followed up with an unbeaten 31 as Old Lane reached their target in just ten overs.

Indian spinner Marupuri Suresh took 4-47 as Banfoot bowled out Gomersal for 146 to secure a 60-run win.

George Senior (33) was the top scorer for Gomersal, who had earlier found former Yorkshire batsman Neil Nicholson in good form for Bankfoot.

The left-hander made 55, while spinners Adam Greenwood (3-24) and Chris Rhodes (3-55) proved to be the most effective Gomersal bowlers.

Farrukh Alam was in the thick of the action as Carlton inflicted a 61-run defeat on Brighouse.

Alam made 47 in a total of 220-5 and followed up with 4-43 as Brighouse were dismissed for 159. Alam was well supported with the bat by Tom Taylor (48no), Stephen Cooper (44) and Ismail Patel (42no).
