LEON Pryce is aiming for a glorious swansong at Bradford next season after his return to Odsal was finally confirmed.

The 34-year-old stand-off is heading back to his hometown club on a one-year deal more than a decade since he quit the Bulls.

Pryce progressed through the ranks at Bradford and played his part in the side that reached five successive Grand Finals.

Head coach Rohan Smith will build his team around the veteran playmaker as he bids to guide the Bulls back into Super League in 2017.

Bradford-born Pryce, who is set to retire at the end of next season, said: “I’m excited to be back at my hometown team.

“2005 was my last season and I’ve always wanted to come back home for my last season.

“I know Rohan’s background with his father and his uncle who have both got a great history in England.

“He is from a good pedigree and I’ve spoken to a few of my Australian friends who have worked under Rohan back in Australia and have got nothing but good things to say about him.

“It will be great for me at this time of my career to learn under new coaching styles and you’re never too old to learn new things, so I’m looking forward to working with him.

“I think I’m at a totally different part of my career now compared to when I left the club.

“I’m a lot older and things may have changed, but hopefully I can guide the team around and try and pass on a bit of experience.”

The former Great Britain stand-off won two World Club Challenges, three Super League titles and two Challenge Cups with the Bulls.

He then enjoyed another glittering spell at St Helens before further stints at Catalans and current club, Hull FC.

He has fallen down the pecking order at the Black and Whites this season, but insisted: “I’ve had an amazing two years at the club.

“It’s been difficult at times not playing this season, but the team as a whole have been amazing and achieved something that they’ve never achieved before by winning at Wembley.

“I will play my part as a squad member until the end of the season and see if we can do another special thing by getting to the Grand Final and hopefully winning it.”
