WEST Bradford Golf Club Ladies have finally swung back into action, with three big competitions in March.

On Tuesday, March 15, the individual stableford went ahead on a lovely sunny morning.

The first of the two March individual stablefords was over 15 holes and off full handicap.

Sheila Terry won with a fabulous 30 points. Her score was level par and included two pars.

In second place was Pam Sprint with 28 points.

Sprint shot a cracking six pars, which is no mean feat at this time of the year.

There weren't any birdies.

The second competition to go ahead in 2022 was a 4BBB stableford on March 22 over the usual winter 15 holes.

Four teams entered and none were over par.

The winners were Helen Shields and Jackie Mungovin with a fantastic score of 39 points, nine under par.

This was mainly due to Mungovin, who scored 27 points.

Her birdie three on the 10th earned five points and this was immediately followed by a par four on the 11th with four points.

In addition, her gross score of six on three of the par fives gave three points on each of those holes.

Twenty-six of the 39 points were scored on the back nine.

Second place went to Pam Sprint and Jenny Chapman with a really good 35 points, five under par.

The other two teams came in with level par, 30 points.

There were a number of members either away or unable to play due to injury.

1st H Shields/J Mungovin 39 pts

2nd P Sprint/J Chapman 35 pts

3rd C Guest/S Vine-Jenkins 30 pts (countback)

Tuesday, March 29 was the final competition of the winter season and the individual Bring & Take stableford was played over 15 holes.

The ladies' past captain, Mungovin, took on yet another task and announced the results. She can now retire from her captaincy duties which lasted well over two years.

This was the last of the competitions which do not count for handicap.

Carole Guest came in with 31 points, one under par.
