SHIPLEY Tenpin Bowling Club have had real success at the Team England Youth National Championships over the last two weekends at Dunstable.

With the likes of Jack Blyth, Harriette Bowes and Grace Thomis starring in particular, they picked up an incredible medal haul.

In total, there were 21 podium positions for the Shipley club, which translated into 38 medals.

Meanwhile, the Adult European Championships are currently being held in Helsinki.

Shipley already had George Jagger representing England in these championships, but now due to an injury to one of the original squad, another Shipley bowler, Callum Simons, has been selected to play.

Simons last represented England at the World Youth Championships in Detroit in 2018, but this is his first outing for the adult team.

His ambition is to play on the Professional Bowlers Tour in the USA and he is planning to play the European Tour before trying his luck in the States.
