City of Bradford Swimming Club enjoyed a very successful Yorkshire Championships coming home with sixteen medals, and a plethora of final placings.

Gina Warrior, Guiseley youngster Will Skiggs and the boys 15/16 years medley team claimed top of the podium places.

The team consisting of Keighley’s Quinn-Austin Kelly, Skiggs, Dawid Naglik and Freddy Dean claimed the top spot in a time of 1.51.96.

They then went on to claim silver in the 200m freestyle team in a time of 1.42.36.

Warrior and Skiggs claimed gold in their age groups in the 50m backstroke and 50m butterfly respectively.

Isabelle Randhawa finished in silver medal position in the girls 12 years 50m freestyle and bronze position in the 50m backstroke.

Following on from their success in the team events, Kelly, Kai Mayers and Freddy Dean were also medal winners in their respective individual events.

Kelly finished in silver place in the sixteen years 50m breaststroke and in bronze place in the 200m breaststroke.

Mayers claimed silver in the 14 years 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle and bronze in the 50m butterfly, while Dean finished in silver position in the sixteen years 50m freestyle and in bronze position in the 50m backstroke.

In the girls events, Sophia Gledhill improved her recent British Championship qualifying time in the seventeen years and over 200m butterfly to claim a bronze medal and replicated her position in the 100m event.

Rounding off the medallists in the seventeen years and over category, Guiseley's Alex Dunn stood on the rostrum in third place in the 50m freestyle.

All swimmers train on the Bradford Aquatics Competition programme under the guidance of coaches Andy Pearce and Sarah Fisher.
