Bradford Bulls youth player Jared Simpson impressed as England Youth fell to a narrow 28-22 defeat at the hands of their French counterparts in the opening game of their two-Test Easter series in Cahors.
Simpson’s spectacular 80-metre dash set-up Dave Hewitt for a try as England fought back from 24-4 down.
Oliver Gildart (Wigan), Elliott Morris (Huddersfield) and Kruise Leeming (Warrington) also posted tries.
