BRADFORD Bulls winger Jorge Taufua has been handed a two-match penalty notice for a Grade C Head Contact charge given in the aftermath of his side’s 42-12 loss to Wakefield Trinity last weekend.

Taufua was sinbinned in the fifth minute after colliding with Josh Griffin on the way to the Wakefield man's opening score of the game.

However, the Bulls winger also failed a Head Injury Assessment after suffering a concussion in that tackle, meaning he played no further part in that fixture.

Bradford head coach Eamon O’Carroll said after the game that he backed Taufua following the collision, saying: “I don’t know what he can do, he was trying to stop a try. I’m alright with that.

“With Taufua I will back him each day of the week, he was sparked out and didn’t know about it

“I don’t know what more Jorge can do with that.”

However, the Disciplinary Match Review Panel hasn’t agreed with that, and Taufua is set to sit out Bradford’s next two Championship fixtures.

In better news for the club, new signing Zac Fulton officially arrived from Australia earlier today.

The second row has joined the club on a one-year deal from NRL side Manly Sea Eagles.

Fulton's grandfather Bob and his dad Scott both played for Manly too, with the former known as one of Australia's Immortals, the 13 best players in the country's history.

Due to train with Bulls for the first time this weekend, Zac is in line to play in their Good Friday clash against Halifax at Odsal.

And with Taufua missing, Bulls will be so glad to welcome experienced centre Joe Arundel into the backs next week, after he missed the Wakefield clash due to his wife giving birth that day.

With Taufua out, Arundel looks likely to be playing at right centre against the Panthers, with Jayden Myers on his outside.

Arundel can also play in the back row, but an expected debut for Fulton means he is unlikely to line up in that position, especially given the depleted ranks in the back seven.

Taufua, Ben Blackmore and Lee Gaskell are all currently out injured.
