CITY have been warned that Walsall will “come out swinging” on League Two’s penultimate weekend.

Danny Johnson’s late winner against Swindon in midweek, his first goal for three months, lifted Saddlers to eighth – just one point off the play-offs.

With seventh-placed Crawley and Barrow drawing on the same night, Walsall are hot on the heels of the Sussex side going into their final two games.

Only the top four have picked up more home points than Walsall, whose tally of 42 is 10 more than City have accumulated at Valley Parade.

And boss Mat Sadler has promised the Bantams to expect another full-on effort from their hosts.

Sadler said: “It’s all to play for, we’ve given ourselves a fighting chance and we’ll come out swinging.

“You saw we did that at the end the other night when we threw on as many attacking players as we can. We’ve given a right good go and we’ll continue to do that.”

Sadler felt Walsall delivered a dominant response against Swindon after losing their two previous games. But the result looked like slipping away from them until Johnson came off the bench to pounce.

“We should have been out of sight,” admitted Sadler. “It wouldn’t have flattered the game for it to have been 4-0 or 5-0.

“But then when you don’t take your chances, you leave it open which we did. But I can’t be too displeased with the performance.

“It should have been more comfortable for us but I’m delighted we got the win in the end. We just did it a different way.

“It was a top-draw performance but now we need to settle down again and make sure that we’re ready for another tough test against Bradford.”
