With all of Bradford Salem, Baildon, Keighley and Cleckheaton having the weekend off, Bradford & Bingley got chance to take centre stage on Saturday.
They were away to Leodiensian in Counties One Yorkshire knowing a win would take them above Harrogate Pythons and off the bottom of the table.
Yet the game only lasted 20 minutes before being abandoned, after a freak accident which saw Leos' full-back suffer a spinal injury.
Thankfully, Bees coach Ali Macdonald told the T&A that he has had word that the stricken player is now doing okay and that the injury is not as serious as first feared.
It was the right decision, but a shame given the game looked like it might go right to the wire.
Leos were beating B&B 8-6 when the game was abandoned, though Macdonald insisted it was the visitors who were on top at the time.
The Bees coach also confirmed the game will now be replayed on Saturday, February 24.
