Multi-million-pound centre could be built in town centre
An “advanced robotics centre” could now be built on a major town centre shopping street rather than at a former council deport.
On Tuesday, Bradford Council bosses will be given an update on the planned Advanced Robotics and Engineering Institute (AREI) in Keighley.
The centre, which would specialise in teaching future technologies, formed part of Bradford Council’s Levelling Up Fund bid for the Keighley constituency.
The bid, which also sought funding for improvements to the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, was initially rejected by Government, but in November the bid was awarded £19.8m.

Driver had three different drugs in his system
A 51-year-old man has been banned from driving by magistrates after admitting being over the limit for two drugs - and having a third one in his system.
Steven Tones had been to a party a few days before being stopped by a police officer on Station Road, Cross Hills, on January 27, heard Skipton Magistrates' Court.

Bradford to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day
Communities across Bradford will mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day this Thursday with a variety of events and services.
Bradford City Hall will be lit up in red, white, and blue that day and a short wreath-laying ceremony will take place at Bradford Cenotaph from 11am.
The Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor Bev Mullaney and Reverend Duncan Milwain from Bradford Cathedral, as well as representatives from the Royal British Legion, will take part.

A Bradford city centre cafe has shut after 11 years.
Refresh, which opened on Cheapside back in 2013, closed on Friday.
Bosses say the cafe and community has "held a special place in our hearts for the last 11 years".
They added that it is "unfortunate that we must close the doors".
